Nashville Approach Control (TRACON) Keeping Aviation Safe Around Music City
In this video, real-time Air Traffic Control Audio was captured during a routine flight from Asheville, NC as we approached the greater Nashville area.
I best describe it as controller pandemonium as some of the nation’s Air Traffic Controllers work aircrafts through the Super Class C airspace around Music City.
I have a ton of respect for everyone working in the Air Traffic Control system and especially in areas of high volumes of aircraft traffic. You will hear how busy the airspace around Nashville can be at times and how the controller keeps everyone safe. The airspace managed by Nashville Terminal Radar Approach Control (aka TRACON) is, at times, some of the busiest class Charlie airspace in the nation. This is due to a combination of many days of great flying weather as well as high volumes of commercial airlines flights, business aviation flights, civil aviation flights and flight training in the vicinity. I have not had an opportunity to tour Nashville TRACON, but I sure appreciate the professionalism and proficiency of all the controllers.
